character vrs reputation
Be more concerned with your character than your reputation, because your character is what you really are, while your reputation is merely what others think you are. This is such a great line! I try to stress this to my boys all the time. I think if my parents would have, I would of gained a stronger sense of security of who I was. Believe me, this is a hard thing to do. We are told in this society that we must be a certain way, look and act the part to be accepted. High school is the worse! It is a breeding ground for the barbaric cast system. My years...Jocks, Preps, Potheads, Nerds, Alternative (art crowd), Theatre/music, and Skaters. Very seldom did these crowds mix, but it did happen. Now as an adult I have exchanged great conversations with friends on Facebook that I wish I would have known better in High School. You find out that the true person, (Character) is someone you would have enjoyed getting to know.
